Hello, Mythies, Mythites, and Mythoids! No, I don’t know what that means. I just had a lil’ Dr. Demento moment.

This week was good! Gave my proofreaders a little break as I focused on renders before going on to write any more scenes. Basically, there’s a few things I wanna do in the few scenes I have left that… I’m not sure I can pull off, visually. Thus I needed to do a few test renders of upcoming events to see if I’d have to re-think what’s to come, as well as making sure stuff I’ve already written is doable before I commit the story to code. So far, nothing I want to do (or have already written) will cause any conflict with what you actually see, so yay. There’s a lot more actual magical stuff happening in this chapter, which means there’s gonna be some more overt supernatural effects that I’ve never attempted before outside of a few commission requests.

For those who didn’t know, Ask the Dev is open, but you only have about two more days to get those questions in!

But that’s not the only thing I need your input for… we have a Survey #2! This one will stay open for about a month (and, incidentally, there’s a few “Ask the Dev” questions that are kinda answered in the survey). The first two questions may look like questions that were on the last survey, but they’re single-choice instead of multiple this time. I don’t wanna just know which characters you like or dislike; I wanna know your singular favourite or least favourite! There’s a reason for all this data collection, I promise. I also know some of the colours look weird; still trying to figure out this CSS crap. For the most part, this form looks how I want it to, but I can’t figure out how to change the colour under the slider. It’s not a huge deal, I guess.

Last week Morgana did get to feeling well enough for us to go see a local theatre performance of Steel Magnolias! I’d never seen the movie before so I had no idea what to expect at all. It was actually really good! I even watched the movie over the weekend just to see what that one was like, which I also enjoyed. We also started a campaign of “Tales from the Red Dragon Inn” with some friends, looking like we’ll be doing that every other Monday. It’s not at all like the standard “Red Dragon Inn” games (which are like drinking games where you don’t actually drink) — it’s far deeper and basically a dungeon crawler.

Being as I’ve finished Midnight Suns (which is fantastic), and that FFXIV Dawntrail looks to be inspired by FFIX, I’ve actually started playing FFIX. It’s slow-going since I’m still working on Mythos, but I actually never played more than like 20 minutes of FFIX so I wanna not be confused by all the references Dawntrail is sure to be making.

That’s all I got for this week, Mythies. Keep the legends alive!
