This week’s Friday Update art was done by Morgana. For some reason she wanted to do this. So, uh… yeah.
So for anybody who read my call for help on Monday, you know that things went south real quick in the Nine of Swords house. Literally everybody here got COVID at once! Yay, solidarity. Morgana was in isolation starting Friday with her test, but she came home yesterday — since everyone here had COVID, there wasn’t much point in continuing her isolation. But we’re all on the mend, now! Things should be back to normal next week.
We’d already canceled our plans to go to a convention this weekend… and I fear that thing may be a superspreader event at this point. But that’s neither here nor there. Even with our vaccinations, it was not a fun time to go through this. I can only imagine how much worse it’d have been had we not been prepared.
But this crisis did demonstrate something to me — you lot are incredibly generous and empathetic, stepping up far more than I could have ever hoped when we needed it most. Thanks to all of your efforts, we managed to cover our bills for the time that Morgana had to take unpaid leave from work to deal with being sick.
Now, there are two downsides to this, sort of. First — both Morgana and myself have more commissions to do than usual. This will take time, so do bear with us on this! That’s why there’s no status update below; I need to get these renders out of the way for the people who really, truly went above and beyond when giving us support.
The second issue is, um… Sigh.
Because of everyone’s gracious hospitality, we met this goal that I honestly never thought I’d meet. Sure, it will only stay this high for one month, but a deal is a deal. People wanted Jessica Lee to interview a house cat. That interview will be going up Tuesday. It will be silly and uninformative, but I live to serve my audience. Even when my audience asks for goofy shit.
Now that I think all of us are recovered from COVID, I have been working on Mythos in a more focused manner. I may start doing the adjustments to numbers and the checklist on a less-than-weekly basis, though.
So once again, I want to thank everyone who stepped up to help Morgana and I. I only hope that Mythos continues to be worth your attention.
Keep the Legends Alive!
