Hello, Mythies!
This update was delayed a few days, because I didn’t want the interview, Steam Autumn Sale announcement, and the update all rapid-firing into your eyeballs. Not only that, but I got pretty sick last week, which messed up a lot of stuff (but mostly my guts).
So what’s been going on? Just working on the game, as usual. I may not be the fastest worker, but I am working on it! I mentioned a while ago that I was tinkering around with some of the new music that was going to be in this one, and I finally have the title screen/main theme in a state where I think it may be finished. Or at least a good first draft.
Yeah, I made a Soundcloud account just for this. Someone a while back did ask if there was somewhere I had all the Mythos music together, so I may upload the rest of the tracks eventually. I’d wanna come up with actual titles for the music, instead of just like “Day” and “Sophia”.
As for what else has been going on… well, my air conditioner broke. You’d think in September that wouldn’t be so bad, but the day is broke it was 89F (31.6 C) which is just insane. Just last week we hit about the same temperature. This is the season where we’re supposed to be wearing cute sweaters and drinking hot apple cider, not swimming in our own sweat! Anyway, since I can’t exactly afford an HVAC repair right now, I got a cheap (ish) portable air conditioner to hold us over until it actually cools off. Since our HVAC unit is both our air conditioner and our heater, I’ll eventually find out if our heat is also broken. If so, I guess I’ll just have to put a whole new unit on my credit card, which is… not ideal. We’re still not in a great place, as far as debt and finances go.
Let’s talk about some happy shit, though! I’ve been losing weight, which is yay. Granted, a bit of that has been my ass, where I didn’t want to lose weight, but I’ll take the bad with the good in this case. My bloodwork has shown improvements in a lot of my numbers, like my A1C/glucose and my “bad” cholesterol levels. If I could get off Mounjaro that’d be great, because I’m still not a big fan of stabbing myself with a needle every week.
In the nerdy personal news, Reality Fracture (the latest Magic: the Gathering set) has been fun! Morgana and I even went to a prerelease event where I got thoroughly destroyed by people who actually know how to draft. I don’t know why I did it, but I guess I just wanted to see some of those shiny cards before sticking to playing in Arena. Also, both my D&D games have started up again – the one where I’m a player just had it’s first session in a while, and the one where I’m the DM actually has a date set for this month.
- Watching – Nothing, really. Visionquest soon!
- Reading – “Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters, and How to Harness It” by Ethan Kross. My doctor suggested it for my anxiety.
- Playing – Magic: the Gathering Arena, and I just finished Tabulo (like Balatro, but with chess instead of cards). No idea what game I’ll pick up next. Still doing my regular rotation of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Where Winds Meet, and Final Fantasy XIV.
That’s all I got for this week, Mythies. Keep the legends alive!
– Nine
