Hey, Mythies!
So this update is gonna be a kinda short one. Not because I didn’t get a lot done – I definitely cranked out a bunch of renders. The scene you can see above I may redo, though; I’m not sure I entirely like the way Sylvia’s ballroom looks for this scene. It’s supposed to look different than it did in Book One, since this is years later, but I feel like it doesn’t have the right… thing. What the French call a certain “I don’t know what.”
The reason I got a lot done, however, is because stuff has been rough. Not just from me turning 47 yesterday, but we also lost our little orange cat (Cecil). He’s the one who’s been in many of my “self” renders, and he’s even sitting on my lap during Book Two’s “Author’s Foreword”. I’m not going to rerender the whole foreword to remove him, but there’s still a cat-shaped hole in my heart. For the first time in my entire life I’m not living with a dog or a cat. Sure, we still have our gecko, but she’s not exactly huggable.
Anyway, people who follow me on various socials or are in my Discord server may have noticed I’ve been withdrawn. Grief hit me hard, so I basically channeled all that energy into doing work on the game. Thankfully all the writing is done, because I can’t channel anything into that part of my creative brain right now. Incidentally, this is why Hattie’s character interview has been a bit delayed. I’ll have that out this month (and possibly even a few other interviews or Tales From Mythos).
Regardless, I promised to keep y’all in the loop at least once a month, and I don’t want non-Discord folks thinking I fell off the face of the planet, so here I am!
Keep the legends alive!
