July is here, and it’s… really freaking hot. I weep for my future electric bill. Hell, I weep for my current electric bill.

Heh… “current”. Electric. Gosh, I’m funny.

I was perhaps overly optimistic when I thought I’d be able to get a lot of work done on renders, and to be fair I actually did. As you can see above, I’m still cranking out renders for Book Two, as you can see above. No, I’m not going to give any context on what the hell is going on there. That’s just something for you to look forward to.

But I said I was overly optimistic because I didn’t get nearly as much done as I’d wanted. I knew I’d have to be helping out Morgana (my partner) as she recovers from rotator cuff surgery, but neither of us realized just how debilitating it would be to have her dominant arm completely immobilized.

Sure some things were obvious, such as I’d have to help her shower, carry things, and so on. However, the pain of the surgery, along with the clumsiness of the sling, also limit what she can do with her non-dominant arm. She quickly became bored because she couldn’t do most things she wanted to do, and we also joyfully learned that she can’t even use the bathroom on her own. I’ll let you use your imagination there, but I’ve had to rein in my germaphobia severely for her sake. Her physical therapy starts next week, so hopefully that’ll give us a better handle on what she can do and how soon she’ll be able to do it.

So, in summary, the demo isn’t ready yet. I’m very sorry about that. But I think everyone knows that I have a full-time job on top of Mythos, and now with being a temporary caretaker some things have to be set aside for a moment.

One final note – I have to give so many thanks to the people who came forward to help us out financially in this really trying time. While we’re struggling with getting our life back on track after the surgery, we’re also struggling financially because Morgana isn’t getting paid during this time. Her job is secure, thanks to the FMLA (I forget what it stands for, but it’s a law saying they can’t fire her for missing time due to injury), but her time away isn’t paid time away. The contributions greatly help.

Let’s hope my next update will come with happier news.

Keep the legends alive!
