Morgana, like so many others right now, is obsessed with Moo Deng, so I made that into my this week’s render. The news this week has nothing to do with everyone’s favourite oily little girl though… or with Moo Deng! Heyo!
Game Update
I’ve been doing a ton o’ renders! I know I say that every week, but it’s true… mostly because it’s practically all I have left to do. Yeah, there’s some music to attempt, then putting it all together for the beta, but this is the “downhill slope” of easy (but time-consuming) stuff that leads up to a release. Since this is the final chapter of Book One, as well as my Steam debut, I’m also going to be going back through the whole game to do little bits of cleanup. The “Author’s Forward” will be changed a bit (and will now be officially called the “Author’s Foreward”), and I’ll fix a few issues with some story bits and maybe a few renders. Nothing that changes the story or the outcome, but some things I feel could have been worded or hinted at better.
Oh, and remember how I mentioned I had to do fifteen renders to composite into a single one? Yeah, turns out I forgot to render them with transparency, so I had to redo them. They were fast because, individually, they were each small renders. It was still a pain in the ass, though. As many Daz artists may tell you, one thing that takes the longest to do is loading a file, not necessarily rendering it (depending on your GPU strength, I guess). After Book One, I may look into getting a big-ass SSD to put my assets on so maybe that’ll have things load faster. I can’t afford that right now, that’s for sure. Maybe Steam will help!
Personal Update
There really isn’t a whole lot special that happened in my personal life this week. I had my annual review at my mortal job, which went very well (as usual). My boss seems to always struggle with my reviews because I do my job, don’t cause trouble, and also very strongly point out that I have no interest in moving up the ladder. I just wanna stay where I am. Unless somehow Mythos’ Steam release gets big enough that I could just be an author for a living. That’d quite literally be my dream, but I’m not gonna count on it.
Hey Nine, Whatcha Playin’?
The Thaumaturge is a pretty fun game, but with me spending so much time rendering it results in me not having as much time to play games. With its story-heavy, it was frustrating to play it in just 30 to 60-minute bursts, so I set it aside for now. Needing a more “jump in, jump out” game, I’ve started playing Potionomics, which is adorable, hilarious, and a little more casual so I don’t get aggravated with shorter play periods.
However I just learned it’s getting an update on the 22nd, which makes me kinda wanna take a break from it until then, since it’s gonna add polyamoury and there are quite a few really good romance interests.
Sad that I can’t sneak in stupid little jokes at the end of the checklists. I’ll bring them back soon!
Keep the legends alive!
