So this is it! Mythos, Book One is coming out on Steam in two days. After that, I can really say I’m done!
It’s been a long road. Five years ago, I set off on a journey to turn a novel I never even tried to get published into a visual novel. Now it’s going to be up for the world to see on Steam. I don’t know how popular it will become, but I actually finished, which is a lot more than many other devs can say.
There is still some Book One stuff happening, but it’s not much. The French translation could be going up within a few days of the Steam release. I just need to figure out a few font issues, since Bradley Gratis (the “Mythos Font”) doesn’t play well with other languages. I’d like to have translators for other languages, too, but that’s really expensive, and I don’t know if the game will even sell well enough to support that kind of thing. If people wanted to volunteer, I certainly wouldn’t turn it down!
However, I think I need to take some time away from the weekly updates. I’ve been doing them pretty consistently for the entire 5 year development of Book One. I don’t think Book Two will take quite as long, at least. I’ve learned a lot while making this game, so my workflow should be pretty streamlined once I get things ready to get Book Two started.
Personal life stuff? Nothing much to report on, so I won’t even make a section for it here. Keep an eye on my Bluesky where I’ll probably give little blurbs about what’s happening in my life, as well as with Steam.
Once I’ve taken some time to myself, I’ll get back in the saddle so that all of you can see just what happens in my fictional Baltimore, with my weird group of characters, and Ky passing the torch on to Vic.
Until then, as always, keep the legends alive.
