So December turned out to be even more stressful than I’d thought! Yay! More on that later, though. Let’s start with Mythos progress.

You may notice something really weird about the progress checklist, now; Chapter Five stuff is on there. Am I skipping a Chapter? No, that’d be silly.

Chapter Four ends with you picking your suspect. Chapter Five is going to be how everything goes down after your accusation; it’ll basically be almost a kinetic novel for that chapter. Thank of it like the Gala scene, but on a macro scale; all the choices you’ve made up until the end of Chapter Four will finalize how things unfold in Chapter Five, where you basically just watch all of the set pieces come together. As such, Chapter Five is going to be… pretty big, but not have many choices for you to take. This requires me to kinda write Chapter Four and Chapter Five at the same time.

Chapter Five is going to be a ton of renders and there’s even going to be a closing animation sequence (done in After Effects, like the intro). It should tie up Book One with a nice little bow. How happy the ending is… well, that depends on what you do, doesn’t it?

Now let’s talk about how things are going in my personal life. I actually have started writing! After plotting out the Chapter Five outline, I got to work on the first scene of Chapter Four. It was honestly more than I thought I’d get done, due to Christmas with the family… but my Christmas celebration was cut short as I was too sick to stick around the traditional big family gathering. All they were doing was yelling at the TV over some sportsball thing, anyway – by 10:30 PM with us having done nothing “together”, Morgana insisted that I was in no physical state to deal with any more of that fuckery.

Morgana’s car has been pretty much out of comission for a while; after we get back from the convention next week we’re going to be buying her a new one. This means she’s been driving my car, which had decided to… just not start for her anymore. After a stressful morning of arranging Uber, getting the car towed twice, and the dealership not getting to my car until late Wednesday, we found out that the bloody thing needed a $1500 repair. So… that’s a lovely dent in my finances right after the big yearly dent Christmas always makes. Have I mentioned how much I hate December?

I’m open to taking commissions for some extra money, but note that I may not be able to get much done until after the convention we’re going to next week – and since the Convention is already paid for (and non-refundable) there’s no reason for me to skip it. Maybe it’ll even do me some good… I certainly need something positive to happen in my life right now.

With that out of the way, here’s the new checklist of “things to do”, so the theorycrafters can try to figure things out from the super vague and often intentionally misleading scene titles!
