The beta has begun!
It took longer than expected, but as I write this, the beta build is uploading for my testers (whom I call “testies”) to pick apart. I was hoping to have it out by Friday night, but apparently, the Ren’Py update broke… all my variables. So I had to go through the entire game and rename them.
It’s possible that this will result in all the old save files being broken, but thanks to a very helpful coder friend we may have a way to save the old saves! Just be warned, though: There is a possibility that you’ll have to start from the beginning. But let’s be honest… it’s been over a year since the last update, you probably forgot most of the game, anyway. As I was doing my alpha test, I know I forgot a lot of shit that happened. Morgana was giving me sideye for laughing at my own jokes, because I’d forgotten I’d written them!
Anyway, this means that, technically speaking, I have now made a complete game. That’s pretty huge to me. Yes, there’s some things that will need fixing (I know I saw a few renders I’ll have to photoshop a few flaws out of), but I did it.
These past few weeks have had many times where I pushed myself too hard, forgot to eat, and in one case almost forgot to sleep, had Morgi not woken up and threatened to unplug my computer if I didn’t come to bed. Book Two will be something more manageable so I won’t have to push and panic so hard. It’ll still be big as far as what the story is about, but it won’t be as complicated in how to get there.
It definitely won’t have fifteen different fucking endings. Holy shit, why did I do that?
Ahem.
Now while the testers do their thing, I’m going to be doing mine. Mythos is 99% release-ready, which is great… because this week (like every year) we’re going to MAGFest! As such, I’m not totally sure if I’ll be posting an update next weekend or not. I may be too exhausted, but I think I owe myself some time to just blow off some steam and not work so hard.
After I get back from MAGFest, I have an entire week off my mortal job. Partly to recover from MAGFest, but also so I can get Book One totally and completely finished. Then comes the Patreon/Subscribestar release, followed by the free download period, and then the free download links get taken down as I launch on Steam (still aiming for February 14th for that).
Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and support as I’ve worked through all this. I hope Book Two will be even higher quality and faster to make now that I have some idea of what I’m doing.
Of course, there’s a chance everyone hates the ending of Book One, in which case I’ll just vanish into obscurity.
Anyway! Keep the legends alive!

Great news on the Beta test!We are almost at the finish line.
Now, it’s time for your “testies” to shine.
I suggest that you don’t call your testers rude names! They may retaliate!!
Call them what you like later. Just not right now. 😀
BTW: Absolutely bloody brilliant. Congratulations! I hope that Morgana recovers from her optical affliction 😉
