After last week’s update, there were a good number of Mythies who encouraged me to take a break from Mythos to get my wits about me. I listened.

Game Update

I mean… I didn’t actually take a break at all. I worked so hard on renders that I did nothing else (except for Thursday, see below). But I listened, so that has to count for something, right?

Pouring myself into the work helped my mental state, in a weird way.

I’m now at about the halfway point done for renders, but the hardest renders to pull off (the ones with the most magical effects) are mostly done at this point so hopefully it’ll go faster from here on. I really want this game done! Book Two and beyond are going to be smaller affairs, I think; fewer characters and less complexity, but that means we can explore individual characters and parts of the world more thoroughly than the “surface level” stuff that Book One was all about. Having six love interests while also trying to establish my worldbuilding and also a murder mystery was a bit of a tall order.

Personal Update

I’ll start with the roommate’s health since his situation is arguably more dire than my own. He’s been moved from “ICU Step-Down” to a rehab facility. We’re going to try to visit him soon, but it sounds like he’s in the clear as far as any imminent danger is concerned. Now it’s a question of how he recovers, or if he even fully recovers at all.

As I said above, I did almost nothing but renders. No games were played (other than a quick logging in to FFXIV daily for five minutes to do the new Society quests).

Thursday was the day I got no Mythos work done, because it was the premiere of Wicked. As you could tell by the header image, this is a film Morgana and I were both very excited about, and it absolutely delivered. As big theatre nerds, we were beyond pleased with how well the movie pulled it off. It even included stuff from the book that they couldn’t quite do on stage, so one could arguably say it was an improvement on the stage production! Cynthia was an amazing Elphaba, and Ariana went completely unhinged to play Galinda (which is what’s needed for that part, really). I can’t wait for part two!!!

There’s a holiday here in the US next week (Thanksgiving) that will hopefully not be too stressful. It’s going to be just myself, Morgana, and my mother. Depending on my mother’s sobriety (and if she confronts us harshly about now doing Christmas with the extended family) it should be a nice day.

Finally, regarding WWE… the surprise with the Bloodline storyline that hit on SmackDown this week made Morgana and I scream! I don’t know how much overlap there is between WWE fans and Mythos fans, but I’m not spoiling it here just in case.

Alright, I’ve dilly-dallied long enough, time to go back to the render factory!

Keep the legends alive!
