This was a rough but productive week, so let’s find out just what’s been going on!
Game Update
Here’s some big freakin’ news; the final chapter of Mythos, Book One is fully written and beta-read! Beta-readed? The beta readers read the beta and approved it. The hardest part is done, basically!
Next comes the rendering process, which is “easier”, but more time-consuming, generally speaking. Depending on how these go, sometimes scenes have to be re-written in minor ways (like if assets don’t exist for what I want to do, or if my GPU can’t handle the way I’d blocked a certain scene). There’s also an epilogue that wraps up some individual character’s storylines while also setting up what’s coming in Book Two.
Additionally, I plan to have one last “Tales from Mythos” in the game, but I can’t even say the title because it may spoil one of the big twists. I’m so excited to see everybody’s reactions to what happens…
Personal Update
I’ll start with the kinda-bad news first! My doctor increased the dosage of one of my medications which has made me pretty miserable this week. I came home from work early Wednesday after vomiting, and if I weren’t working remotely on Friday I’d have called in sick due to being awake in the bathroom all night on Thursday. I was likewise in and out of the bathroom last night. My body feels like lead and it feels like there’s an army of gnomes in my guts trying to stab their way out with fondue forks.
But there’s some great and hopefully final news on Morgana’s condition: Her mammogram and ultrasound have confirmed that she is currently cancer-free! Between that and the genetics testing we can breathe easily, for a little while. We’re still naturally going to be vigilant with screening, but we don’t have that immediate sense of dread hanging over us anymore.
So yeah, generally good news for both the game and real life, other than my intestines leading a revolution against me right now. I guess the update being short isn’t necessarily bad.
Keep the legends alive!
