Friday Update – October 22nd, 2021

So this week hasn’t been great on any front. 🙁 As you can probably guess by how late my Friday Update is going out.

First, as far as the game goes, I feel like I made hardly any progress. As I was rendering, I realized that I couldn’t pull off the scene that I wanted to pull off, so I had to re-write about half of it, which resulted in me having to re-render some of the shots I’d already done. Yay, fun.

I got a hard drive upgrade because I’d almost maxed out my storage drive (where all my Mythos stuff is), and that’s giving me troubles — I still haven’t gotten the bloody thing to work. I also intended to get a new monitor today, but the electronics store I went to not only didn’t have it in stock, but none of the ones nearby had any either. I guess I’ll have to get one online (which I wanted to avoid, because I like to see what I’m buying with some things).

Finally, I’ve been feeling sickish off and on.

But I should end this on a good note! I’ve solidified how Book One’s ending is going to be handled! It looks like I’m aiming for five chapters then a sixth “finale” chapter, which will be short from a gameplay perspective but will have all the possible endings in it to make it really, really big from a coding/render standpoint.

If all goes as planned, we’re looking at 13 different endings (appropriate!) with various epilogues for each character based on how things go during the story.

The killer will be the same in each ending; 12 of them is just you getting it wrong.

So now I must go back to trying to get this hard drive working. Wish me luck!

EDIT: Adding to my frustration, the Featured Images (the ones at the top of each post) are screwing up and cropping themselves, again. This is a such bad week.
